New Delhi: Taking a dig at the new BJP government on Friday, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP ministers took oath at a stadium that was built when his own government was in power.


Taking to his Twitter handle, Yadav, who is the former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, in a Hindi tweet, wrote, "Congratulations to the new government that they are taking oath in the stadium built by the Samajwadi Party. The oath should not be merely to form the government, but also to serve the people in a true sense."






The ceremony of swearing-in took place at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium that has a capacity to accommodate 50,000 people.


Yogi Adityanath was unanimously elected the BJP legislature party leader in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, after which he staked claim to form the government.

Adityanath was on Friday sworn-in as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for the second consecutive term. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel administered the oath to him.


BJP leaders Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak took oath as deputy chief ministers of the state.


BJP leaders Suresh Kumar Khanna, Surya Pratap Shahi, Swatantra Dev Singh, Baby Rani Maurya, Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Jaivir Singh, Dharampal Singh and Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi took oath as ministers in Adityanath-led government.


Besides, Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, Anil Rajbhar, Jitin Prasada, Rakesh Sachan, Arvind Kumar Sharma and Yogendra Upadhyaya of the saffron party also took oath.
Apna Dal president Ashish Patel and Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad were also sworn-in as ministers.
