Shraddha Murder Case: FSL 'Prepared' For Aftab's Narco Test Tomorrow, Know About His First Night In Tihar

Aftab showed a carefree attitude on his first night in jail. He ate the food as per jail manual without any objection, slept peacefully and conversed in English with inmates, sources told ABP News. 

New Delhi: Accused in Shraddha Walkar murder case, Aftab Amin Poonawala is likely to undergo the narco test tomorrow, November 28 for which the Forensic Science Laboratory has “fully prepared itself, sources told ABP News. Aftab’s narco analysis will be conducted at Ambedkar Hospital in the national capital and the process could take around 3 to 4 hours to complete. 

Meanwhile, the accused spent his first night in jail after being sent to judicial custody for 13 days. He has been placed in a cell inside Tihar jail with two other inmates and the jail authorities are completely on alert about his activities. He is being continuously monitored through CCTV cameras and a police personnel is also deployed outside his cell round the clock.

Aftab has been accused of killing his live-in partner Shraddha Walkar who later cut up her corpse into 35 pieces and disposed of at various places in Delhi. 

All the stages of the polygraph test on Aftab concluded on Friday, the officials said, reported news agency PTI. He can be called again if the experts will not be satisfied with the report, the official added. 

"Our forensic experts will analyse the recordings and make a report accordingly. He (Poonawala) can be called again if the experts are not satisfied with the report. Based on the outcome of the report, a decision will be taken on conducting narco analysis which can be carried out even if he is sent to judicial custody," he said. 

A series of questions related to the case such as the sequences of events that led to the murder, the accused's relationship with Walkar, reason for their strained relationship, place where he dumped the body parts, type of weapon used, were among some of the questions asked in the test. The intention was to check for discrepancies in his statement, the official said, adding that the results will be handed over to the investigators within two-three days, the report added.
