NEW DELHI: After MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan claimed last year that roads in his state are "better than those in the US," his son Kartikey also joined that bandwagon and made the same claim on Wednesday.


22-year-old Kartikey was speaking at his father’s Assembly constituency Budhni where he repeated his father's words that roads in Madhya Pradesh are '100 per cent better than United States.



Earlier on Wednesday Chouhan had again reiterated his opinion while speaking in Shahdol: “Main phir kehta hoon, humari sadken Amreeka se kam nahi hain (I reiterate, our roads are no less than those in America).”

Shivraj had made the statement in 2017 at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum meeting in Washi where he had claimed that "When I got down at Washington Airport and travelled on the  roads, I felt that the roads in Madhya Pradesh are better than those in the US,"

“I want to give you an example. If you go to the city through the super corridor from the Indore airport, you will find world class roads. This was in my mind when I was speaking in the US. I had read a report that 92 per cent of the roads in Washington are in poor shape,” he had said.

Chouhan had also claimed that India and Madhya Pradesh were way ahead of the US in terms of women empowerment.
