Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday travelled by train to reach Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. This will be Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Chouhan's first visit to his home state after assuming charge as Union Minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi led cabinet.
The senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader left Delhi today morning and is likely to reach Bhopal station by Shatabdi Express at 2:15 pm, where the BJP workers and supporters will be welcoming him. According to news agency ANI, the BJP along with several social and employee organisations has made preparations for his welcome at more than 65 places in Bhopal.
During his journey in the train, Chouhan was seen speaking to the passengers and he also posed with children. Some of the passengers also clicked a selfie with him.
As the train reached Morena Railway Station, hundreds of his supporters greeted him with garlands and flowers.
The Union Minister took to social media platform X to inform about his visit to Bhopal. "Today I am travelling in 'Shatabdi Express' train from New Delhi. The experience of travelling during this time is extremely enjoyable," he wrote on X.
In another post pertaining to his train journey, the former MP CM said, "Travelling by train has its own joy; in a few hours of journey, a soulful bond is formed with the fellow passengers."
The senior BJP leader assumed charge as Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare on June 11. He has also been given charge of the Ministry of Rural Development. Chouhan became Union cabinet minister for the first time in his more than three-decade-long political career.
Notably, Chouhan had emerged victorious from Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha Lok Sabha seat and had defeated Congress' Pratapbhanu Sharma with a margin of 8,21,408 votes.
