While talking to new agency ANI, Raut also said “from Rashtrapati Bhavan to UP there is BJP's government. Rajya Sabha has a lot of members who will stand with of Ram temple issue.”
Earlier today, Shiv Sena asked the BJP to come out with an ordinance and declare a date for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. In an editorial in party mouthpiece 'Saamana', while slamming the BJP, the Sena said those in power should be proud of Shiv Sainiks who had "destroyed Babur's raj in Ram Janmabhoomi".
The statement by Sanjay Raut comes days after Shiv Sena party announced that chief Uddhav Thackeray will visit Ayodhya on November 24 and will attend a programme at Lakshman Kila and attend 'saryu aarti'. Uddhav will pay obeisance at Ram temple on November 25 and will participate in 'jan samvad' at Gulab Bari.
In a bid to intensify his party's campaign for the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Thackeray has given a new slogan 'Pehle mandir, fir sarkaar' (first the temple, then the government). Shiv Sena, which is the part of the BJP-led governments in both Maharashtra and the Centre, has been aggressively pushing for the construction of Ram temple since the party's annual Dussehra rally. The party has often taunted its ally BJP over the latter's "failure" to construct the temple in the last four years despite coming to power.
