The World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) has announced the nomination of Shaurya Doval as a Fellow, recognising his contributions to global thought leadership and policy innovation. Founded by eminent figures such as Albert Einstein, Robert Oppenheimer, and Joseph Rotblat, WAAS serves as an international think tank dedicated to addressing the complex challenges facing humanity. The Academy comprises a distinguished body of scientists, artists, and scholars who contribute to the advancement of knowledge and societal development.


Shaurya Doval's nomination places him among a prestigious group of individuals who have made impactful contributions to their respective fields. Notable past members from India include Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former president, who was elected as an Honorary Fellow, and Dr Vikram Sarabhai, former chairman of the Indian Atomic Energy Commission.


Doval's contributions span diverse areas, including policy advocacy and economic development.  


In response to his nomination, Shaurya Doval expressed his gratitude and emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in solving global challenges. "It is an honour to be nominated as a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science. I look forward to contributing to the Academy's mission of promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and finding sustainable solutions for the betterment of humanity," he stated.


To the uninitiated, Shaurya Doval is the son of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Politically, he is affiliated with affiliated to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is the Executive Member of BJP Uttarakhand. He is the founder of India Foundation, a right-wing think tank.
