After the Gujarat Rajya Sabha poll, the Election Commission had declared votes of two Congress MLAs as invalid, which eventually worked in favour of Congress leading to victory of Ahmed Patel.
Sharad Yadav tweeted: "Brilliant judgement of ECI in respect of Gujarat RS election deserves congratulations to officials of ECI".
He had earlier congratulated Congress leader Ahmed Patel on his victory in the Gujarat RS poll too. As a matter of fact, in the RS poll of Gujarat, Congress was competing against JD(U)'s present ally BJP.
The national president of JD(U) has openly expressed his displeasure over JD(U) and BJP alliance in Bihar and has been vocal in criticising the betrayal of people's mandate caused by the split in the Gran Alliance. Consequent speculations about ousting Sharad Yadav from JDU are reportedly going on in the party.
The JDU leader who is currently representing the state of Bihar in the Rajya Sabha, started his much anticipated three-day Jan Samvad Yatra on Wednesday. In the rally he is supposed to meet the people of Bihar to discuss the repercussions of the withdrawal of the grand alliance in the state. Yadav has been quoted saying : "I was one of those who asked the people of Bihar to vote for the grand alliance. I consider this as a responsibility. The people are hurt with this withdrawal."
