New Delhi: Soon after dancer Sapna Chaudhary joined the Bharatiya Janta Party on Sunday, its parent organization RSS has expressed dissent over the same. In a tweet shared by RSS’ media convenor Rajiv Tuli, the unhappiness has been made public.

State media convener of the Delhi unit Tuli had tweeted a photo of Chaudhary joining the BJP and said, "Quorum is complete Manoj Tiwari, Hansraj Hans and now Sapna Choudhary. Party with a difference Shivraj Chouan ji congratulations".

The sarcastic tweet has now created a controversy.

This comes after BJP’s membership drive was launched at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital on Sunday, during which Chaudhary joined the party in the presence of former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the party’s national general secretary (organisation) Ramlal.

Seven others, including a differently abled youth, a first-time voter, retired Army officers and bureaucrats and a street vendor, joined the BJP at the event.

Speaking on RSS’ unhappiness on Sapna Chaudray’s joining, party Delhi Chief Manoj Tiwari said, “It was the media that highlighted her joining. I don't think anyone is unhappy. Senior leaders are pleased with the success of the membership event".

The “hype” created by BJP’s Delhi unit around singer-dancer Sapna Chaudhary joining the party left a section of leaders and RSS functionaries unhappy because they feel “celebrities are increasingly being promoted at the expense of long-time party leaders”.
