Re-opening Of Schools: In view of declining number of Covid-19 cases across the country, several state governments have decided to open schools and colleges that have been closed for a long time. Among the states that have announced reopening of schools and colleges are Rajasthan, Haryana, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
The State Education Departments have advised to reopen schools, colleges, and educational institutions with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols.
Schools and Colleges reopen in Rajasthan
The Rajasthan government issued new guidelines regarding Covid-19 on Friday. According to this, schools for classes 10 and 12 will be opened from February 1, while schools for classes 6 to 9 will reopen across the state from February 10. The guidelines issued stated that students will continue to have the option of online classes.
Apart from this, markets in the state and other business establishments will now remain open till 10 pm. The 'Janata Curfew' was scrapped away on Sunday. According to the new guidelines, night curfew will be in force from 11 pm to 5 am daily across the state. Apart from this, a maximum of 100 people will be allowed for all kinds of gatherings and meetings across the state.
Schools to open in Haryana from today
After the Rajasthan government, the Haryana government has also decided to conduct classes for 10th and above classes in offline mode from today. While schools will remain closed for students of classes 1 to 9 till further orders. The state education department has issued an order to resume schools in the state in compliance with Covid-19 protocols.
All educational institutions in Telangana to open from today
The Telangana government has also decided to reopen all educational institutions in the state from February 1 with strict adherence to Covid-19 guidelines. A memorandum to this effect was issued by the state education department. The school management, teachers and parents of students need to take the required precautions.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had on January 3 directed to declare a holiday from January 8 to 16 in all educational institutions across the state. The holiday was further extended till January 30 owing to the rise in Covid-19 cases.
Schools and colleges to open in Pune, Maharashtra from today
As the Covid-19 pandemic slows down, schools continue to reopen in different states of the country. In this order, it has now been announced to open schools in Pune, Maharashtra. State Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar announced this. He said that from February 1, schools for classes 1 to 8 will resume in the district.
However, the school hours have been fixed at only half of the earlier timings. For classes 9th and 10th, the schools will resume as before. The colleges in the district will also reopen as per the earlier schedule.
