Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to take part in the much-anticipated Ram Mandir consecration or pran-pratishtha event in the temple town of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, January 22 - thus kicking off his re-election campaign in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Tens of thousands of chanting and dancing devotees waving flags, blaring horns, and banging drums have converged in Ayodhya, with roads congested, trains overcrowded, and the remainder pouring in on foot.

Approximately 7,000 invitees, including politicians, businesspeople, celebrities, and athletes, are expected to attend the pran-pratishtha event, which is scheduled to begin at 12.20pm.
Schedule Of Cultural Events In Ayodhya Today:
- 10.30 am to 2 pm Shri Ram Katha recital by Devkinandan Thakur
- Cultural procession from 10 am to 4 pm at 100 locations of Ayodhya. Cultural performances by 1,500 artists of folk dances from different regions of the state and 200 artistes from regional cultural centres of the Ministry of Culture.
- Presentation of Ramleela from 6 pm to 7 pm at Ramkatha Park.
- Saryu Aarti at Ram Ki Paidi from 6.30 pm to 7 pm
- Projection show along Ram Ki Paidi from 7 pm to 7.30 pm
- Hymns recital by by Watekar Sisters from 7 pm to 8 pm at Ramkatha Park
- Bhajan Sandhya by Sharma Bandhu from 7 pm to 8 pm in Tulsi Udyan
- Laser show at Ram Ki Paidi from 7.30 pm to 7.45 pm
- Eco-friendly fireworks show at Ram Ki Paidi from 7.45 to 7.55 pm
- Cultural evening from 8 pm to 9 pm at Ram Katha Park by Kanhaiya Mittal.
- From 8 pm to 9 pm in Tulsi Udyan by Raghuveera Padmashree Malini Awasthi.
According to the temple trust, the consecration ceremonies for the 'pran Pratishtha' began on January 16 near the Saryu river and will end on Monday afternoon in the 'abhijeet muhurta'. Lakhs of people are expected to witness the event live on television and internet platforms, since the government declared a half-day vacation on January 22 and several states followed suit.
