Ramlala Pran Pratishtha: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the leaders of the INDIA bloc and shared a poster having photos of opposition leaders including, Congress' Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and CPI's Sitaram Yechurry.
The saffron party shared this poster after Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury turned down the invitation to attend the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple on January 22. The BJP dubbed the opposition leaders ‘Anti-Sanatan’ (anti-Hindu).
"Recognise, the faces of the Sanatan opponents who rejected the invitation for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony," said the saffron party in a post on X.
On the Congress leaders declining the invitation to 'Pranpratishtha' ceremony of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, party MP Digvijaya Singh says, "How many invitees have accepted the invitation? No established religious leader has accepted the invitation. They have raised an objection. As per religious scriptures, no 'pranpratishtha' of any idol can be done at a temple the construction of which is incomplete, it is considered ominous. Not just Congress but all political parties that have received the invitations - Shiv Sena, RJD, JD(U), TMC, CPI, CPI(M) - who is attending it? Shiv Sena, which led the Babri Masjid demolition, has declined too. Lord Ram belongs to everyone. We would be delighted to visit the temple but let the construction finish first. They have turned into this a BJP and VHP event."
Karnataka Congress leader Priyank Kharge said that the four Shankaracharyas and saints are saying that the Ram temple is incomplete. "The four Shankaracharyas & saints are saying that the Ram temple is incomplete. Why is BJP seeking answers from Congress, but not listening to what the Shankaracharyas are saying?," Kharge said.
