The Indian Army has killed two terrorists who were involved in the January 1 killings of six civilians in Rajouri. 


White Knight Corps of the Indian Army informed on Sunday on Twitter, "Operations to nab terrorists involved in the Dhangri attack continue. Alert troops deployed on the border fence in Balakot detected and neutralised two terrorists so far." 






It added the entire area has been cordoned off and the operations are in progress.  


Six civilians including two children were killed and several others were injured in two separate terror attacks in Upper Dhangri village in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district in subsequent evening and morning incidents. It is suspected that the blast in the morning was done using IED. 


According to an ANI report, while four people were gunned down on January 1 evening, two children were killed, and several others injured after a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast occurred in the same vicinity in Rajouri's Upper Dhangri village on January 2 morning. 


The injured were being treated in Jammu hospital. 


Another person, identified as Prince, succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu, ANI reported on Sunday citing Hospital authorities. 






A large number of people had gathered in Dhangri village on January 3 to attend the last rites of the six persons who died in the deadly attack. 


Earlier, the locals of the Dhangri village demanded the deployment of forces to boost security in the area. Central Reserve Police Force jawans have also been deployed in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri. 
 
The Union Home Ministry had issued an order to deploy an additional 18 companies to Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the civilian killings in the two terror attacks in the Rajouri district. 


Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha earlier condemned the terror attack in Rajouri and announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh and a government job would be given to the next of kin of each of those civilians martyred. The seriously injured would be given Rs 1 lakh.
