On Monday, a meeting between Sachin Pilot and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had signalled an "amicable resolution" of nearly a month-long Rajasthan political crisis ahead of the crucial assembly session beginning August 14.
While speaking to reporters, Pilot did not make any statement against the party and had gone to discuss issues with the Congress high command in Delhi. I have not demanded any post from the party, he added.
Pilot, however, said he was shocked at statements made against him. "I am sad, shocked and hurt due to the kind of words used against me," Pilot said. He said there should not be any space for personal ill-feelings in politics and there should not be any vendetta politics.
A large number of his supporters gathered outside his residence to welcome him as he drove down to Jaipur from New Delhi in his car. Earlier in the day Pilot had said that his rebellion was never “anti-party” but merely a means to articulate the happenings in Rajasthan.

Indicating an end to the rebellion in the Congress' Rajasthan unit, a meeting took place between Sachin Pilot and his loyalists and the three-member panel formed by interim party chief Sonia Gandhi to look into their grievances, at the war room in the Congress headquarters in New Delhi on Monday.
Speaking to the media afterwards, Pilot had said: "I wanted our self-respect to remain intact. I have given 20 years to the party now. We have always attempted to ensure the participation of people who worked hard to form the government."
He said that he was not hankering for any post as the party has the sole right to give and take away a post. Pilot also stressed that his fight was ideological and not personal.

Pilot also said that he believed that all these issues will be resolved after Sonia Gandhi heard all their concerns and the governance issues that they had raised. He also welcomed the formation of the three-member committee.
Once all dissidents return, the Congress will have a total strength of 107 MLAs in the 200-member state Assembly where the simple majority is 101. The Congress also has the support of a number of independent MLAs. BJP has 72 MLAs.
