Rajasthan BJP disciplinary committee president, Onkar Singh Lakhawat on Thursday said that a suspension order against Shahpura MLA Kailash Chandra Meghwal had been issued by the president of the state party unit, CP Joshi. "State BJP chief CP Joshi has ordered the suspension of Kailash Meghwal from the primary membership of the party. He has ordered that his [Meghwal's] reply to the notice of indiscipline issued to him and the entire matter be forwarded to the party's state disciplinary committee for further action," Lakhawat said.
What Kailash Meghwal Said
The action comes just two weeks after Kailash Chandra Meghwal accused Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal of engaging in corruption. He said he would recommend Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expel him. At an event in Shahpura, Kailash Chandra Meghwal praised the Congres government in Rajasthan and called Arjun Meghwala "corrupt no. 1". "The Union Law Minister is involved in corruption. He is engaged in money laundering scams worth lakhs of rupees. He did not spare even the poor and helpless people. He said that he came into politics to save himself. Even today, proceedings are going on against him," Kailash Chandra Meghwal said.
Soon after this event, the BJP state committee sent him a show-cause notice, asking him to explain his "breach of discipline" and his statement "tarnishing the BJP's image". A reply was sought from Kailash Meghwal within 10 days. Kailash Meghwal later held a press conference in Jaipur where he claimed that there was factionalism within the party. Meghwal also said that he had no complaints against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but stated that his long political career was being overlooked to favour Arjun Ram Meghwal.
BJP's state president CP Joshi has so far remained mum on the suspension of Kailash Meghwal.
