A car collided with a divider on the Purvanchal Expressway on Friday, resulting in the death of three individuals and severely injuring another person. The victims were en route from Haryana's Ballabgarh to Arrah in Bihar to attend a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred near Seur.
Amit Kumar Mishra, Station House Officer of the local Kurebhar police station, confirmed the collision, which claimed the lives of Chinta Devi (51), Ram Chandra Gupta (55), and his wife Maya Devi (52).
Gupta's son, Vikas (30), sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to a government medical college for treatment. They further said that families have been informed.
The police attributed the accident to rash driving.

In January, a collision occurred between a bus carrying passengers from Bihar and a tanker Purvanchal Expressway in Lucknow. The collision resulted in one fatality and injuries to four others. Police attributed the accident, which happened around 8 AM, to poor visibility caused by fog.
The bus's helper, who was seated at the front, died from his injuries at the scene. The deceased was identified as Surendra Singh.
Last year, five members of a family including a couple were killed on the Purvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh district of UP, as per The Times Of India. The accident took place when their vehicle collided with a bamboo-laden tractor-trolley from behind.
Police reports indicate that the family was travelling from Lucknow to Ghazipur in an SUV when the collision occurred around 11:30 pm near Khadarampur village. Due to the darkness, the driver was unable to see the bamboo protruding from the trolley and collided with them from behind. The impact of the collision was so intense that the roof panel of the SUV was dislodged, and the bamboo pierced the chests of most of the occupants.
The deceased were identified as Kailash (45), his wife Neetu (38), Dukkhi (43), Guddi (40), and Rani (11).
