New Delhi: All eye after Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi as he is expected to announce names for his cabinet on Saturday afternoon. If reports are to be believed, the party has reached a consensus on inducting seven new MLAs while eight MLAs will be retained. The Chief Minister has reached Governor Banwarilal Purohit to share the names.
As reported by new agency ANI, Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi has confirmed that Punjab cabinet expansion will be held tomorrow at Raj Bhawan, at 4:30 PM.

According to media reports, after since taking over as Chief Minister on Monday, Channi has visited Delhi thrice to discuss the cabinet overhaul with party high commands including Rahul Gandhi. Congress leaders KC Venugopal, Harish Rawat, Harish Chaudhary and Ajay Maken were also present at the meeting with AICC leader Rahul Gandhi that continued past Friday midnight.
Sources aware of the development have reported that party reached a consensus on dropping former Health Minister Balbir Sidhu and Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi. Revenue Minister Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora and Social Welfare Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot are also likely to be dropped from the new cabinet of Punjab.
Raj Kumar Verka, Kuljit Nagra, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Pargat Singh, Amarinder Singh, Raja Warring, Rana Gurjeet, and Surjit Singh Dhiman are some the names the party is mully over to induct as new entrants in the cabinet.
