BJP leader Sadhvi Pragya said on Friday that India belongs to Hindus and Sanatan Dharma and they will stay here. Pragya was speaking to the reporters in Bhopal about the Nupur Sharma controversy. Speaking about the death threats to Sharma, Pragya said, “These non-believers have always done so. They have a communist history...Like Kamlesh Tiwari said something he was killed, someone else (Nupur Sharma) said something & they received a threat.”

“India belongs to Hindus & Sanatana Dharma will stay here,” she added.

Pragya’s statement in support of the former BJP national spokesperson Nupur Sharma came days after her suspension from the party after she made derogatory remarks on Prophet Muhammad which attracted criticism from many Gulf countries.

Prior to Pragya, Sadhvi Prachi had also given a statement in Sharma’s support saying that she is being punished for speaking the truth.

“Nupur has been punished for speaking the truth,” Prachi told reporters in Muzaffarnagar on Monday. “It is really ridiculous…how can one be punished for speaking the truth? Truth can never be defeated,” she said adding, “Everyone who believes in Sanatan Dharma is in support of Nupur and Naveen.”

Post her comments on Prophet Muhammad, Nupur Sharma had retracted her statement saying that she did not intend on hurting religious sentiment.

"I have been attending TV debates for the past many days where our Mahadev was being insulted and disrespected continuously. It was mockingly being said that it is not Shivling but a fountain. The Shivling was also being ridiculed by comparing it to roadside signs and poles in Delhi," she tweeted.

However, she also requested the media to not make her address public as she was receiving death threats for her comment.

Earlier this week, Sharma and her family were provided security by the Delhi police.
