Thakur was attending the event in Bhopal when she suddenly fell unconscious and was provided assistance by party workers. She was at the BJP headquarter along with the Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.

She had returned to Bhopal from Delhi a few days back after going through medical treatment. However, she is now said to be stable. The BJP leader on Sunday has charged the Congress for worsening health issues, including alleged loss of vision, to “torture” she suffered under the Congress regime, according to PTI report.

On Sunday, Thakur, participated in the International Yoga Day event at the state BJP headquarters and emphasised that she had “swelling and pus from retina to brain”, adding she lost vision from one eye.

“I sustained several injuries due to torture by the Congress for nine years. Many injuries resurface due to this torture. There was formation of pus and swelling in my eyes and brain. I have blurred vision in the right eye and I cant see at all from the left one,” she was quoted in a PTI report.

Here she was hinting at her imprisonment in the 2008 Malegaon blast case.

Apart from the Prime Minister other senior BJP leaders including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP national President JP Nadda had paid tribute to Mukherjee.
