New Delhi A police complaint was filed against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann Saturday for allegedly entering a Gurudwara in a drunk state, reported news agency ANI.
The case was registered by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga who urged the Punjab Director-General of Police to take action against the Chief Minister based on his complaint.
The BJP minister posted a copy of the complaint on his Twitter handled and said, "Filed Police complaint against Punjab CM @BhagwantMann for Entering Gurudwara Damdama Sahib in Drunk Condition. I request @DGPPunjabPolice @PunjabPoliceInd to take action on my complaint."
Bagga registered the case with the police after Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) Friday alleged that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had entered Takht Damdama Sahib in a drunk state on the occasion of Baisakhi.
AN apology from CM Mann was also sought by the Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee members.
Meanwhile, CM Bhagwant Mann, keeping his poll promise announced 300 units of free electricity for the people of the state on Saturday. The decision will come into effect from July 1 this year.
"From 1st July 2022, every household in Punjab will have 300 units of free electricity every month - 600 units for 2 months. BC, BPL, freedom fighters households used to get 200 units of free electricity earlier, they too will now get 300 units free," said Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, as reported by ANI.
"Households that consume more than 600 units of electricity in 2 months, for instance - 640 units or 645 units - will need to pay only for the extra 40 or 45 units that they have consumed over and above 600 units," the CM further added.
