Taking a swipe at the Opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said BJP was now the only pan-India party in the country amid several family-run parties. Inaugurating the newly constructed BJP's central office extension in Delhi, PM Modi said the building was a symbol of the progress of the party's expansion.
"BJP now only pan-India party from east to west and from north to south amid family-run political parties in country. Our journey began with two Lok Sabha seats and is now at 303 seats," PM Modi said at the event.
Many veteran leaders of the party, including BJP national president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, were present in the event.
Asserting that the government's clampdown on corruption would not stop due to false allegations, PM Modi said "some people will get angry".
"We have a strong foundation of constitutional institutions. That's why to stop India, constitutional institutions are being attacked. Agencies are being attacked when they take action, questions are being raised on courts. Some parties have started 'Bhrashtachari Bachao Abhiyan'," the PM said.
"For the first time in seven decades, such an action is being taken against the corrupt. When we will do so much, then some people will be upset and will be angry but the action against corruption won't be stopped because of their (Opposition) false allegations," he further said.
PM Modi also highlighted his party's achievements in curbing corruption.
"Under PMLA (law against money laundering) during the Congress rule, a total of Rs 5,000 crore was confiscated. But under the BJP, we have confiscated about 10,00,000 crore. Twenty thousand economic offenders who have fled, have been caught by us," he said.
PM Modi said BJP was not only the world's biggest but also most futuristic party and its only goal "is to make a modern and developed India".
"The expansion of this office is not just an extension of the building, but it is an extension of the dreams of every BJP worker. I bow at the feet of crores of party workers. I also bow my head to all the founding members of the party," the Prime Minister, who faces a crucial Lok Sabha election next year, said.
"BJP was a small party with dreams for the country. This building is a symbol of the progress of the expansion party," he said.

Referring to the period following the 1984 riots, PM Modi said the BJP was completely destroyed but weren't demoralised.
"Country can never forget that black phase in 1984. Congress got a historic mandate in those elections, it was an emotionally charged atmosphere. We were completely destroyed in that wave, but we weren't demoralised and didn't blame others," he said.
