New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Monday launch the national portal for credit linked government schemes - Jan Samarth Portal. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in a release said it is a one-stop digital portal linking government credit schemes and added it is a first of its kind platform which directly connects the beneficiaries to the lenders.


The main purpose of Jan Samarth portal is to encourage inclusive growth and development of various sectors by guiding and providing them with the right type of government benefits through simple and easy digital processes.


The Jan Samarth portal ensures end to end coverage of all the linked schemes.


Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the iconic week celebrations of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs at the Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital on Monday.


This week is being celebrated as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM) from June 6 to 11.


Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate a digital exhibition, which traces the journey of the two ministries over the past eight years.


The Prime Minister will also release special series of ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, ₹10 and ₹20 coins.


Th PMO said these special series of coins will have the theme of the logo of AKAM and will also be easily identifiable to the visually impaired persons.


The programme will also be organised simultaneously at 75 locations across the country and each location will be connected through virtual mode with the main venue.


During the iconic week of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, a documentary will be released on the Development of Securities Market in India on June 8.


The National Customs and GST Museum 'Dharohar', which showcases an array of seized goods, antiques and customs heritage, will be dedicated to the nation on the last day on June 11.


The other notable events during the iconic week celebrations include the international conference on data analytics in public procurement that will deliberate on the best international practices in the field of public procurement. Some major initiatives in public expenditure management and taxation, both direct and indirect will also be showcased.


Prime Minister Modi had on March 12 last year inaugurated the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', marking a 75-week countdown to the 75th Anniversary of India's Independence on August 15, 2022.
