New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a global initiative ‘Lifestyle for the Environment (LiFE) Movement’ via video conferencing on Sunday.
Prime Minister Modi will also deliver his keynote address during the programme at 6 pm.
The launch of this programme will initiate ‘LiFE Global Call for Papers’ inviting ideas and suggestions from the academics, universities and research institutions etc.

The move is aimed at influencing and persuading individuals, communities and organisations across the world to adopt an environment-conscious lifestyle.
The programme will also witness the participation of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation co-chairman Bill Gates, Climate Economist Lord Nicholas Stern, Nudge Theory author Professor Cass Sunstein, Nudge Theory CEO and President Aniruddha Dasgupta, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Global Head Inger Andersen, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Global Head Achim Steiner and World Bank President David Malpass among others.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in a release said the idea of LiFE was introduced by Prime Minister Modi during the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow last year and it will be implement this year in the country.

The idea, as per the PMO release, promotes an environment-conscious lifestyle that focuses on 'mindful and deliberate utilisation' instead of 'mindless and destructive consumption'.
