Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today address a rally in Rajasthan’s Ajmer in the first major event in the state marking the BJP government’s nine years in power at the Centre. BJP has launched a mega month-long outreach campaign as it completed nine years of governance. The State is also set to go to polls later this year where Congress is in power. However, the grand old party is caught in a leadership tussle between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his former deputy Sachin Pilot.

According to PTI, Prime Minister Modi will travel by helicopter from Kishangarh airport to the holy town of Pushkar, where he will offer prayers at the Brahma temple and visit the ghats, according to party leaders. He will then travel by helicopter to Kayad Vishram Sthali on the Jaipur road to address the rally.

Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal and Kailash Chaudhary, and other BJP leaders from Rajasthan will attend the event, reported PTI. As per the information, Ajmer North MLA Vasudev Devnani said BJP workers from 45 assembly and eight Lok Sabha constituencies are being mobilised for the rally.

Of these 45 assembly seats, 21 are held by the Congress, 19 by the BJP, three by independents and two by the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, PTI reported. Over the past few weeks, Modi has also visited Rajsamand and Sirohi.

Rajasthan BJP has claimed that around 4 lakh people from all over the state including 8 Lok Sabha and 45 Vidhansabha of the state will gather in the meeting. Hence, a huge pandal of about 4 lakh square feet has been made for the meeting.

Rajasthan Politics

Rajasthan assembly elections will be held in October-November 2023. At present, the Congress government in the state wants the BJP to return to power in the state. Apart from the State assembly seats, both parties are eyeing the 25 Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan.

PM Modi's 6th Visit To Rajasthan In 8 Months

The visit to Ajmer will be PM Modi's sixth trip to Rajasthan in the last eight months. On May 10, PM Modi held a meeting at Abu Road in Sirohi and visited the Nathdwara temple. Earlier on February 12, Modi held a meeting in Dausa. On January 28, Modi held a meeting in Bhilwara's Asind.

Last year on November 1, Modi held an event at Mangarh Dham in Banswara and on November 30, Modi had come to Abu Road in Sirohi.

The BJP event comes after the Congress party announced on Monday that Gehlot and Pilot will be joining forces to combat the saffron party in the upcoming elections.

Speaking with the media, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal stated: “We have decided to fight the elections unitedly. Definitely, we will win the elections in Rajasthan. Both Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot have unanimously agreed with the proposal."
