New Delhi: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has raised a strange question over Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that while travelling across the world, PM wears different kinds of attires, but he refrains from wearing a Muslim cap. “You must have seen him wear different kinds of interesting clothes, but he says no to one thing. Why doesn’t he wear green colour?”
Tharoor further commented on the mob incidents which recently took place in the country and said “Even if Swamy Vivekananda would have been here today, the mobs would not have spared even him”.
He further mentioned the attack on Swamy Agnivesh, which took place at his parliamentary constituency Thiruvananthapuram and said “These goons would have got engine oil to be thrown at his (Swami Vivekananda’s) face and would have thrashed him as well; because even Swamy Vivekananda urged to respect humans and used to say that humanity is above all”.
The spiritual leader, who was in Jharkhand’s Pakur to attend an event on July 18, was in his hotel when a group of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers thrashed him.
Agnivesh later lodged a complaint at Ranchi police station. “I survived just with the grace of God. The mob would have killed me. I thought I was finished” he had said.
