New Delhi: A glaring case of Covid-19 vaccination data forgery has come to light in Arwal district of Bihar. Names of politicians and personalities like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Sonia Gandhi and actress Priyanka Chopra were found on a list of people supposedly vaccinated for Covid-19.

The list of people vaccinated at Karpi community health centre went viral after it was tweeted by Rashtriya Janata Dal.

Two data operators were sacked after the fraud was exposed, NDTV reported. The local administration has now ordered an inquiry into the data fraud.

During inspection of the list of vaccinated people on the vaccination portal, names of politicians and many film stars, including Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, were spotted by the officials. According to the list, all of them have been vaccinated for Covid-19 in Bihar's Arwal.

District Magistrate J Priyadarshini told NDTV that action would be taken against those responsible. The DM said that the matter was very serious.

"This is a very serious matter. We are trying so hard to ramp up testing and vaccination and then such irregularities are happening. Not just in Karpi, we will look at all healthcare centres. An FIR will be lodged, we will take action and set a standard," District Magistrate J Priyadarshini told NDTV.

"Two operators have been removed, but I am of the opinion that others must also be probed," the DM added.

Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey told reporters that he had aked the district magistrate and the chief medical officer to look at data of other hospitals as well.

"These are technical matters. We cannot leave scope for errors in this system. If you make an error, you will face action," he said.
