New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has finally accepted Indian Cricket Captain Virat Kohli's fitness challenge and has posted a video of his fitness workout.

In about two-minute-long video Prime Minister can be seen practicing performing exercises mostly walking-based, in his official residence.

PM tweeted the video along with a description for it. He informed that he is a daily Yoga practitioner and apart from that he walks on track inspired by the 5 elements of nature- Earth, water, fire, air and sky. He also practices breathing exercises daily.  He can be seen walking on a ring track that has patches of grass, water, pebbles and soil.

He wrote "Here are moments from my morning exercises. Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature - Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice breathing exercises.#humFitTohIndiaFit."

He further nominated Karnataka's newly elected Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and tennis player Manika Batra. He also nominated the entire fraternity of IPS officers especially those who have crossed 40 years of age.

Kumaraswamy launched a hidden attack at the PM as he promptly replied to the challenge. He tweeted: Dear Narendra Modi ji, I am honoured & thankU very much for d concern about my health I believe physical fitness is imptnt for all & support d cause. Yoga-treadmill r part of my daily workout regime. Yet, I am more concerned about devlpment fitness of my state&seek ur support for it."


It is said about the PM that he takes only 4 to 5 hours of sleep every night.

Along with PM Modi,  cricketer Virat Kohli had challenged his wife and actor Anushka Sharma and former Indian Cricket team captain, MS Dhoni.

The campaign was initiated by Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. The chain of nomination started with Rathore nominating Virat Kohli, Hrithik Roshan, and Saina Nehwal.
