New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's popularity has been soaring ever since he came to power at the Centre. Two consecutive wins in the Lok Sabha elections is a testimony to his fame in the country. The Prime Minister has also grown as a global leader as he has once again ranked at the top of the Global Leader Approval List 2022.


American research firm Morning Consult came out with the global leader list and named Narendra Modi as the most popular leader of the world.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi scored the highest rating of 72 percent, leaving behind several prominent faces like Us President Joe Biden, Justin Trudeau of Canada, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and French President Emmanuel Macron.






It is the third consecutive time that PM Modi topped the list with such a huge margin .


The list released by the American research firm had 13 global leaders competing for the top spot. According to the list, Mexican president López Obrador was ranked number two with 64 percent. Prime Minister Mario Draghi of Italy, with 57 percent and Japenese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida with 47 percent were ranked third and fourth, respectively.


US president Joe Biden managed to take the sixth spot by scoring 41, while Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and  Canadian President Justin Trudeau were placed at the eighth and ninth spot, respectively in the list.


Interestingly, four world leaders - Joe Biden, South Korean President Moon Jae-in, Scott Morrison and Justin Trudeau got an approval rating of 41 percent.


UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson had the lowest rating. Johnson is battling to improve his political image in the country after being accused for holding parties during Covid-19 lockdowns.
