PM Modi Kedarnath Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Kedarnath Dham today. He has gone to Kedarnath for the 5th time since becoming the prime minister.


He unveiled a 12 feet long and 35-tonne statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya on Friday. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for reconstruction projects worth more than Rs 400 crore. Earlier, the Prime Minister performed aarti at the famous Kedarnath temple. 


From Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath watched the live broadcast of PM Modi performing the aarti at Kedarnath temple. PM Modi performed 'rudra abhishek' of Baba Kedarnath with honey, ghee and belpatra. He then performed the aarti of Baba Kedarnath. After circumambulation of the Kedarnath shrine, the PM offfered prayers to Lord Shiva at the sanctum sanctorum of the temple.


Statue Unveiled
PM Modi unveiled the statue of Adi Shankaracharya on Friday. The 12 feet long and 35-tonne statue of Adi Shankaracharya was inaugurated at Kedarnath. PM Modi also inaugurated the reconstructed Shankaracharya's samadhi that was damaged in the 2013 Uttarakhand floods.






CM Dhami welcomes PM 
When Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Dehradun airport, he was received by retired Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh and state Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. From there, PM Modi left for Kedarnath to lay the foundation stone of reconstruction projects worth Rs 400 crore.
