New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday referred to the popular social media expression FOMO (fear of missing out) during his Denmark visit, saying those not investing in India would certainly miss out.
Addressing the India-Denmark Business Forum, Modi said economic reforms brought by his government had created investment opportunities in various sectors like green technology, cold chains, shipping and ports.
"These days the term FOMO or 'fear of missing out' is gaining traction on social media. Looking at India's reforms and investment opportunities, I can say that those who don't invest in our nation will certainly miss out," a tweet from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) quoted him as saying.
Reacting to PM Modi's 'FOMO' remark, Danish PM Mette Frederiksen said, "I always thought FOMO was about Friday nights or parties but I realise that it's about India."
PM Modi said the government was also working on the PM-GatiShakti programme to create infrastructure facilities for the next generation. Modi also said there was great scope of investing in green technology.

PM Modi and his Danish counterpart participated in the India-Denmark Business Forum with top business leaders from the two countries. A video of the two leaders being greeted after the meeting by Indian community members was shared by MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.
"Enriching conversations on ways to combine Denmark's skill and India's scale, especially in areas of clean energy and climate friendly technologies," Bagchi said about the business forum meeting.
Prime Minister Modi also held a bilateral meeting with his Danish counterpart Frederiksen. Addressing the media after the meeting, PM Modi said there were huge investment opportunities for Danish firms in India.
"There are more than 200 Danish companies operating in India in various sectors like wind power, shipping, consultancy, food processing, engineering etc. They are getting the benefits of increasing 'ease of doing business' in India and our macroeconomic reforms,” said Prime Minister Modi.
