PM Modi's Birthday: Finland Prime Minister Sanna Marin was among the early greeters for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as she extended birthday wishes to the Indian PM in a letter on Wednesday (IST) and said that there is much potential to deepen even further the relations between the two countries.

Marin said the two countries have just celebrated 70 years of diplomatic relations between them. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) posted the letter on Twitter.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will turn 70 on Thursday , September 17 and BJP has initiated week-long 'Siva Saptah', a drive from 14th to 20th of this month, in which the saffron party proposes to help people by donating blood, plasma, distributing fruits among children among other activities to celebrate the 70th birthday of Modi.

"The pandemic has clearly shown that national measures are not enough. We need international cooperation now more than ever. There is much potential to deepen even further the bilateral relations between India and Finland,” Sanna Marin wrote in the letter.

The Finnish PM recently married her long-time partner Markus Raikkonen last month, after 8 months of holding the post. The Finnish PM had to reschedule the ceremony several times owing to elections, then the coronavirus outbreak, and lastly the European Union summit. The duo have been together for nearly 16 years and also have a 2 1/2-year-old daughter.
