The Lok Sabha briefly adjourned for the day on Tuesday, after opposition party leaders protested over the Prime Minister’s remarks about the recently concluded Mahakumbh. PM Modi had addressed the House praising the success of Mahakumbh, which he said was a reflection of the spirit of rising India.


He said that it proved that Unity in Diversity remains strong in Indian ethos and that the youth is proud of embracing traditions and faith. In his address, he said, “I bow to crores of people of the country who contributed to the success of Mahakumbh in Prayagraj.”


He also said that last year during the Ram Mandir Prana Pratishtha ceremony, the country witnessed how India is preparing for the next 1000 years and exactly a year later with the Mahakumbh this feeling has been strengthened.


PM Modi thanked the people and the ‘Maha Prayers For the success and said that it was driven by people, their resolve and devotion.

“The success of the Maha Kumbh is the result of the efforts of various people. I want to thank everyone: the country's devotees, the public of UP, especially the people of Prayagraj. We all know that strenuous efforts took place to bring Ganga to earth; similar efforts have been taken to hold the grand Mahakumbh," said PM Modi.


He also said that Mahakumbh highlighted ‘Sabka Sath Sab ka Vikas'.

“I had emphasised the importance of 'Sabka Sath Sab ka Vikas' from the Red Fort. The entire world saw India's grandeur in the form of Maha Kumbh... We witness a national awakening in the Maha Kumbh, which would inspire new achievements... This also gave a befitting reply to those who doubt our strength," said the PM in his speech.


After his address, the opposition leaders created a ruckus demanding that they be allowed to ask questions to the Prime Minister.
