New Delhi: One of the two persons who entered the Lok Sabha and jumped down from the visitors’ gallery was caught and overpowered by the MPs who beat up the intruder before handing them over to the security personnel. A major security breach was reported in the Lok Sabha during the ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament earlier in the day.

Two persons jumped down from the gallery and hurled gas cannisters triggering a security scare in the House.

A video has surfaced which shows the Parliament members thrashing one of the intruders as soon as the person jumped down from the gallery.

The intruders have been identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan. According to sources, Manoranjan is an auto driver by profession.

According to police, Neelam (42), and Amol Shinde (25), of Maharashtra's Pune, were detained while they staged a protest outside the Parliament building carrying cans that emitted a yellowish and red smoke.

The four accused were acquainted with each other beforehand and maintained continuous contact. Together, they conspired to ignite the smoke sticks inside and outside the Parliament, as per reports.

"We didn't even know that she went to Delhi. All we knew was that she was in Hisar for her studies...She had visited us the day before yesterday and returned yesterday. She has qualified BA, MA, B.Ed, M.Ed, CTET, M.Phil, and NET. She had raised the issue of unemployment several times and had also participated in farmers' protests,” Neelam’s younger brother told news agency ANI.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla convened an all-party meeting over the security breach issue.

“The all-party meeting was called at 4 pm, where we (Opposition) raised the issues related to security lapse (at the Parliament). The biggest issue is there was a major lapse in security arrangements," Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury told PTI after the meeting.
