The Delhi Police filed a supplementary charge sheet before a court in Delhi in connection with the Parliament security breach last year on the anniversary of the 2001 terror attack.
The charge sheet was filed by the police before Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur after obtaining requisite sanctions to prosecute all the accused under the stringent Unlawful Activates (Prevention) Act (UAPA), reported PTI.
Meanwhile, the judicial custody of all accused persons was also extended by the court till the same date.
During the brief hearing, Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Akhand Pratap Singh informed the judge that the police have obtained the requisite sanctions from the authorities concerned to prosecute the accused persons under sections of UAPA.
Singh also apprised the court about certain forensic reports that are awaited and will be submitted very soon.
The submission was noted by the judge who listed the matter for arguments on cognisance for August 2, 2024, as per the PTI report.
Meanwhile, the court also extended the judicial custody of all accused till same date.
On June 7, the police had filed a nearly 1000-page chargesheet against all the six accused in the case: Manoranjan D, Lalit Jha, Amol Shinde, Mahesh Kumawat, Sagar Sharma, and Neelam Azad.
In a major security breach last year during the monsson session of the Parliament, coinciding with 2001 terror attack on Parliament, two persons -- Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D -- jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour. The miscreants released yellow gas from canisters and shouted slogans before being overpowered by the MPs.
Around the same time, two other accused, Amol Shinde and Azad, sprayed coloured gas from canisters outside the Parliament premises shouting "tanashahi nahi chalegi"
