New Delhi: Amid the daily going chaos and tussle between the ruling and opposition parties in the Parliament over several issues, Bharatiya Janata Party has condemned the derogatory remarks made by Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O'Brien wherein he liked the passage of bills in the Parliament to making 'papri chaat'.

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday told media that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a BJP Parliamentary party meet earlier today expressed anguish over Derek's tweet.

"Yesterday, a tweet was posted by TMC (MP Derek O'Brien). PM said it is an insult to people who elected MPs. PM expressed anguish. '...Making papri chaat' was an insulting comment. Tearing of papers, throwing them & not apologising is arrogance is what PM said," Union Minister  said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

On Monday, the TMC MP pointed out that 12 bills were passed "at an average time of under seven minutes per bill". Accusing the government of hurriedly passing bills, the  MP questioned if the government was "passing legislation or making papri chaat".

"In the first 10 days, Modi-Shah rushed through and passed 12 Bills at an average time of UNDER SEVEN MINUTES per Bill. Passing legislation or making papri chaat!" Derek O'Brien tweeted along with a chart of the bills passed in Monsoon session.

Meanwhile, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned following a ruckus by Opposition MPs, who continued to protest in the House over different issues.
