Patna: On Tuesday morning, the Patna police reached the Buddha Colony in North Mandiri to arrest Jan Adhikar Party leader Rajesh Ranjan aka Pappu Yadav for constantly breaking Covid norms. 


Bihar has seen sudden surge in cases making it difficult for the already overwhelmed healthcare system to keep up.

Considering the situation of the state, leaders like Pappu Yadav ignoring lockdown norms makes matter worse. Pappu Yadav's supporters say that the JAP leader was arrested in his private residence by the house in-charge of Buddha Colony police station.


However, the IG of Patna told ABP News over a phone conversation that Yadav was given multiple warnings prior to his arrest at which the leader would assure to comply with the norms but would later break them and leave the house. Currently, legal action is being considered against Pappu Yadav.


JAP supporters were trying to defend their leader, however, seeing as the commotion escalated, the police took him and some of his associates into custody. The police have taken them to the Gandhi Maidan police station.Pappu Yadav himself tweeted this information.






According to the police, Pappu Yadav has been constantly violating Covid lockdown rules even though he had been given multiple warnings. He has been travelling around Bihar even though the state is under lockdown. 


Based on the state's health department's latest report, Bihar has recorded 10,174 fresh cases bringing the total of active cases to 105,103.
