New Delhi: A video on Twitter has gone viral of a man demonstrating his genius 'pani puri vending machine' and probably the need of the hour, considering the lockdown. The machine works like any other vending machine, a person has to put in the money and a small conveyor belt will dispense out stuffed Pani puris slowly, completely contactless. Eating sweet and sour pani puris/gol gappas/poochkis from street vendors is one of the things people are missing because of the lockdown. Before the pandemic, it was a casual thing for people to meet their friends or family, go to their favourite pani poori/gol gappa vendor and gorge on some delicious, crisp, sweet and sour pani puris.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, hygiene takes a central stage and social distancing becomes the new normal and people cannot enjoy this treat! But this vending machine makes contact-less pani puris a reality and lovers of this snack are eating it up over social media.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Assam Police, Hardi Singh is among the thousands who tweeted about, he tweeted "Now this is real Indian ingenuity!" while sharing the video, which has collected thousands of views on Twitter.

No matter what you call, Pani puri, puchka, golgappa or pani batasha and while the debate on who has the best pani puris may never settle, one thing is for sure everybody loves this vending machine and is eager to eat pani puris!
