New Delhi: Two staffers working with Indian High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan are reported to be missing, sources have informed. The incident prima facie appears to be a revenge move by Pakistan in response to India deporting two of its spies, and a foul play is suspected from Pakistan's side, sources are of the opinion. The matter has been taken up with Islamabad by the authorities, soon after the information was received. The two staffers had left their residence for work in the morning and have been missing since then.

The incident comes weeks after India nabbed two Pakistani spies red-handed and sent them back to Pakistan. Previously, Pakistani elements also chased Indian diplomat Gaurav Ahluwalia on a bike. Indian Charge d’ Affaires Gaurav Ahluwalia stationed in Pakistan capital Islamabad had said that the vehicle he was travelling in was chased by an unidentified person on a motorbike in Pakistan capital Islamabad. A video of the incident was also shared in which a bike-borne person can be seen following the vehicle.

These incidents come soon after Pakistani spies were caught by India while procuring sensitive data.

Abid Hussain and Muhammad Tahir were apprehended by Indian authorities for espionage activities. According to reports by agencies, Hussain belongs to the Punjab province of Pakistan while Tahir who is his colleague is from Islamabad. Both work for the Pakistani High Commission while the former worked as an assistant in the Department of Trade the latter is an upper-division clerk. Both revealed their connection to the Pakistani spy agency ISI during interrogation.
