New Delhi: Air India flight operations got halted worldwide on Saturday morning as airline’s SITA server went down in India and overseas at 3:30am, leaving passengers stranded at airports across the world. The sever-down led to delays with boarding pass issuing, non functional web checkin and flight delays. The same led to ruckus and anger among passengers who had to miss their meetings and important appointments early Saturday morning, and as they were clueless about what was happening because of not being informed. The passengers at Delhi and Mumbai airport can be seen gathered in large numbers, trying to seek details from the airline staff.
Finally informing the passengers about the same, the Airlines finally issued a statement, saying “SITA server is down. Due to which flight operation is affected. Our technical teams are on work and soon system may be recovered. For inconvenience deeply regretted. Stay tune for more updates”.
The sever has now been restored.
