Eight missiles were fired from Pakistan towards Satwari, Samba, Ranbir Singh Pura, and Arnia late on Thursday. All of them were intercepted by Indian air defence units, Defence sources were quoted by news agency IANS.

India's S-400 missile systems have been continuously detecting and intercepting Pakistani missile attacks. The attacks were aimed at Jammu and Udhampur.

In a swift retaliatory response to escalating cross-border excursions on Thursday evening, India has launched a drone attack on Lahore. The attack follows a series of drone strikes by Pakistan in Rajasthan and other border areas, leading to heightened security alerts in India’s border regions.

India has also shot down an F-16 jet and two JF-17 fighter jets. Sources said a suicide attack was also attempted in Rajouri, but was foiled.

The Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff said: "Military Stations of Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur in proximity to the International Boundary, in Jammu & Kashmir targeted by Pakistan using missiles and drones. No losses. Threat neutralised by Indian Armed Forces as per SoP with kinetic & non-kinetic means."
