Around 250 survivors of Coromandel train crash are on their way to Chennai in a special train, a railway official told PTI. On the other hand, another special train from Chennai is set to leave Bhadrak on Saturday evening for family members to travel and track the unreachable passengers in Odisha.
According to PTI, a train, no. P/13671, started from Bhadrak towards Chennai with the survivors who were stranded at the accident site at Bahanaga Bazaar. The train is scheduled to arrive in Vijayawada at 9.30 PM and it will reach Chennai Central railway station on Sunday.
Of the 250 passengers, Vijayawada Railway Division official from the South Central Railway (SCR) zone told PTI, "Four passengers will disembark at Bherampur, while 41 will get off at Visakhapatnam, one in Rajamahendravaram, two in Tadepelligudem and 133 in Chennai."
Meanwhile, railways are set to operate another train from Chennai to Bhadrak for the family members. Kumar Jayant, Tamil Nadu Principal Secretary Revenue and Disaster Management, said, “We have not got any report of anybody from Tamil Nadu in the identified dead bodies till now. There are a large number of unidentified dead bodies for which the Railways is running a train from Chennai in the evening. Any family member of passengers who are not in touch with them can take the train and come here to Bhadrak."
Till now, there is no clarity yet on whether anyone from Tamil Nadu died in the crash.
