The Internal Security Committee held a meeting on Wednesday in Home Ministry, which was attended by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. Senior officials from Home Ministry the home ministry were also present in the meeting.

The meeting also included senior officials from Jammu and Kashmir. The agenda of the meeting was security in Jammu and Kashmir along with other issues.

The meeting comes when the security situation in the valley seems grim in view of the recent killings of civillains by the terror groups.

Earlier this month, Doval met Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the Kashmir issue where targetted killings have been on rising since last month.

According to a report by news agency PTI, Doval, along with RAW chief Samant Goel, closeted with Shah for over an hour at the home minister's office at North Block this afternoon, official sources said. Details of their meeting were not known immediately but they were believed to have discussed the situation in restive Kashmir where a bank employee hailing from Rajasthan was killed this morning — the third non-Muslim government employee.

Post this meeting, Shah chaired a high-level meeting in Delhi on the Kashmir issue which was also attended by Doval.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir police killed three militants associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) today in the Shopian region who were allegedly planning an attack on the Amarnath Yatra. Two of those killed were residents of Pakistan, and one was a local from Pahalgam, said IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
