New Delhi: Looks like all is SUPER well for Congress President Rahul Gandhi not just on the electoral battleground but also when it comes to his comparison on social media influence against Narendra Modi. A new study proves that despite having way more followers on Twitter Prime Minister Narendra Modi at times gets outfoxed by Congress President in terms of engagement per tweet. Looking at the numbers, PM Modi still continues to be one of the most followed celebrities on Twitter across the globe, Rahul and his team are leaving no stones unturned to give him a tough fight. Over the past one year, Rahul has been exponentially active on Twitter and on several occasions, his tweets have garnered more traction than those of the Prime Minister. While there is still a huge gap of followers between the two leaders with PM Modi boasting close to 45 million, Rahul is gradually building the base with currently having around 8 million followers. Despite this huge gap, Rahul has left PM Modi behind on several occasions. PM Modi tweets far more than the Congress President, but Rahul is now getting more engagement per tweet, revealed a study conducted by Times of India. In Twitter-verse, criteria like retweets per tweet, likes per tweet and replies per tweets are important to evaluate someone’s influence and reportedly Rahul has outsmarted PM Modi on several occasions over the recent past. PM Modi largely tweets about issues such as policy changes, new decisions, external affairs and others. While on the other hand, Rahul talks more about issues that is related to voters such as jobs, infrastructure and farmers etc. On an average, Rahul gets close to 8,000 retweets per tweet in comparison to less than 4,000 for PM Modi. The Congress president also boasts of 30,000 Likes per tweet, while PM Modi has over 15,000 likes per tweet, stated the TOI study. Even when it comes to replies per tweet, Rahul gets close to 3,500 whereas as PM Modi gets around 1000 replies on an average basis. The study also highlights that Rahul talks about jobs in one tweet out 46 tweets, infrastructure in one out of 106, farmers in one out of 17. When it comes to PM Modi, the numbers on the same issues are 1 in 462, 1 in 64, and 1 in 33 for jobs, infrastructure and farmers, respectively. This fierce comeback of Congress President goes to prove that he along with his party is aggressively using social media in 2018 compared to how they were in 2017. This social media transformation of the Rahul and his party has surely played a significant role electoral gain and the massive victory in Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are the proof of it.
