New Delhi: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Mumbai on Thursday, the city police today issued an order banning drones, paragliders, and remote control microlight aircraft flying activities in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Andheri, Meghwadi, and Jogeshwari areas on the day for 24 hours.
PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 10,800 crores in Karnataka and Rs 38,800 crores in Maharashtra during his visit to the two states on Thursday, a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office said.
In Karnataka's Yadgiri and Kalaburagi districts, Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various developmental projects related to irrigation, drinking water, and a National Highway development project.
In Maharashtra, he will lay the foundation stone of seven sewage treatment plants, a road concretisation project in Mumbai and the redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Modi will also inaugurate two lines of the Mumbai Metro and undertake a metro ride, the statement said.
He will flag off of services on Mumbai Metro Rail Lines 2A and 7, worth around Rs 12,600 crores. The metro line 2A connecting Dahisar East and DN Nagar (yellow line) is around 18.6 km long, while metro line 7 connecting Andheri E - Dahisar E (red line) is around 16.5 km long. The foundation stone of these lines was also laid by PM Modi in 2015.
