New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unveil Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s hologram statue at the India Gate on his 125th birth anniversary on January 23.
Prime Minister Modi said that Netaji’s hologram statue would be present at the same place till the grand statue is completed.
“Till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is completed, a hologram statue of his would be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on 23rd January, Netaji’s birth anniversary,” he tweeted.
Prime Minister Modi said Netaji’s grand statue will be installed at the India Gate, adding this would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him.
“At a time when the entire nation is marking the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am glad to share that his grand statue, made of granite, will be installed at India Gate. This would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to him,” he wrote on the micro-blogging platform.
The birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is celebrated as Parakram Divas or a day of valour across the country.
The Central government announced the same last year in order to honour and remember Netaji’s indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation.
The Republic Day celebrations in the country will now begin every year from 23rd January instead of 24th.
The step was taken to include the freedom fighter’s birth anniversary.
This is in line with Prime Minister Modi-led government’s focus on celebrating and commemorating important aspects of the country’s rich history and culture.
