New Delhi, April 14:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been implementing some tough measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 cases in the country, has now gone ahead in replacing the display pics (DPs) of Twitter and Facebook account.

After he finished addressing the nation in his third televised speech using the scarf as a mask, his DPs in both social media platforms were also changed. The new profile picture depicts PM with folded hands covering half face with a scarf.

In his address to the nation, PM extended the lockdown till May 3. Over the next one week India has to observe social distancing norms with even greater discipline.  In view of the strict adherence to the social distancing norms, PM Modi has given hope that those regions may witness conditional reprieve after April 20.

However, if the regions are found violating the social distancing norms then the permission for relaxation will be taken away.

Every town, district, and state will be closely monitored during the lockdown while the list will be prepared for regions that are successful in preventing the disease from spreading.

"There will be very strict guidelines on how people step out of their homes. If those guidelines are not followed properly if social distancing norms are not observed and the disease starts resurfacing in those areas then, then all permission to such places will be withdrawn," Modi said in his speech.

While the lockdown will continue in all other parts of the country till May 3.

The country has taken several measures to rein in the pandemic and our situation is better than many developed nations. Besides restrictions the government has also worked on improving the health infrastructure to tackle the outbreak.

On stressing the need to look after the poor, PM said, “Poor of this country is my family and the priority is to ensure that their pains are addressed.” The total number of positive Covid-19 cases crossed 10,000-mark in India on Tuesday morning, while the death toll reached 339.
