Mumbai: Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam has demanded action against Dosti Builders, BMC Commissioner and Engineers after a wall collapsed at a construction site in Antop Hill in Mumbai's Wadala East area on Monday. The caving-in of the wall trapped over 10 cars in it.

Nirpuram lashed out at the nexus of the trio for the tragedy and wanted them to be immediately booked.  He blamed the Shiv Sena-led BMC and BJP for allowing Dosti Realty to violate building norms. "The Commissioner is good for nothing. He needs to be immediately sacked. Because of him the BMC is not able to do any good work.

According to ANI, the incident occurred at 4.45 am on Monday.

A resident of a building in the Dosti Builders complex said he was shocked to see the wall collapse. He feared the parking in his building might face the same fate if the rains keep pouring in this manner. He said he raised the matter long ago with the builders änd BMC but there wasn’t any serious action taken regarding it.

Fire brigade officials were present at the spot for rescue operations. No injuries have been reported so far.

Reports say the C and D wings of Lloyd's Estate have been asked to evacuate.
