The delegation left for New Delhi on Monday morning and will meet the Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla at North Block, Delhi.

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya on Saturday alleged that he was attacked by Shiv Sena "gundas" and Mumbai Police refused to register his FIR in this regard.

Somaiya has claimed he was injured in alleged stone-pelting by Shiv Sena workers in Mumbai.

"Heavy stone-throwing at Khar Police Station by Shiv Sena gundas (goons), my car window glass broken, I am injured, rushing to Bandra police station," the BJP leader alleged in a series of tweets.

"I am shocked, in the presence of 50 police persons, on the campus of Khar police station, Shiv Sena's 100 gundas assault me with stones. Wanted to kill me. What the Police Commissioner is doing? How are so many mafia Sena gundas allowed to gather in the police station?" he claimed.

He also accused Mumbai Police of refusing to lodge his FIR: "Mumbai Police refused to Register My FIR. 70/80 Shivsena's Gundas tried to KILL Me & Thackeray Sarkar refuses to take any action or register My FIR."

"This is the third attempt by Uddhav Thackeray to take my life. Earlier in Washim, then Pune and now in Khar," Somaiya wrote in another tweet.

On Saturday, Somaiya visited Khar Police Station to meet Amravati MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana who were arrested over the ruckus on their announcement to recite Hanuman Chalisa in front of CM Uddhav Thackeray's private residence 'Matoshree'.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manjunath Shinge informed that a case has been registered based on Kirit Somaiya's complaint. "Case registered on the basis of his complaint. The investigation will be fair and impartial," said DCP Shinge.

Not Just Attempt To Threaten Him But To Kill Him: Maharashtra BJP President

Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil condemned the alleged attack on Kirit Somaiya and warned of retaliation action against the state government.

"The attack on Kirit Somaiya was not just an attempt to threaten him but to kill him. It happened on the police station premises. Now MVA govt is propagating violence in front of police. Do you want to create Kerala or Bengal like situation here?" asked Patil, as quoted by ANI.

Mentioning the attack on Mohit Kamboj, he said, "Mohit Kamboj was also attacked a day before. If state administration with the help of police will crumble the law and order situation, then BJP would retaliate in the same way. Our workers won't remain silent."

Former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis requested the Centre to take action against concerned officials. "An attempt was made to attack Kirti Somaiya outside a police station in Mumbai last night. We will request Central Government to take action against concerned officials," Fadnavis said.

Notably, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday dismissed the claims saying, "BJP should not be pained."

"Kirit Somaiya is accused in the INS Vikrant case. He misled the country.  If the public has expressed its anger against such people, then, BJP should not be pained. The people of Maharashtra will not forgive such people," Raut remarked in Mumbai, as quoted by ANI.
