New Delhi: The Lokayukta Police team raided the properties of Alok Khare, assistant commissioner in Madhya Pradesh excise department, in a case of disproportionate assets case, on Tuesday morning.


Searches are underway at Khare’s properties in Bhopal, Indore, Raisen , Chhatarpur and other locations.

As per the Lokayukta team, Tuesday’s raids can be the biggest action in the state.

In the documents recovered so far, most of the properties are on the name of Khare’s wife or children.

In the initial probe itself,  properties worth crores have been revealed.

A pent house and a bungalow in a posh Indore society have been revealed. Other assets revealed so far include, a huge bungalow in Bhopal’s Chunabhatti, a farm house in Kolar and two farmhouses in Raisen.

It is reported that foreign currencies have also been recovered from Khare’s Chhatarpur residence.

For action in Indore, the Lokayukta team in Indore has been asked for help. As per the information available, when the team reached Indore’s Grand Exotica property, they found it locked.

It is said that Khare has not turned up at his office since last few days.

After the transfer of Assistant Excise Commissioner of Indore Naresh Choubey, Assistant Excise Commissioner Alok Khare was given the responsibility of Indore Assistant Excise Commissioner from Bhopal.

Khare, who was the Assistant Excise Commissioner in Bhopal, was given the responsibility of Indore after the Transfer of Indore’s of Assistant Excise Commissioner Naresh Choubey. Khare is posted in Indore since 2018.
