New Delhi: After a dramatic fall of the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, the party members have targeted the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in its attempt to regain power in the 2023 state elections. A poster depicting Congress' Kamal Nath as Lord Krishna and Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan as 'Kans Mama' was put up outside Cong's office, Bhopal, as per the news agency ANI report. Congress leader Shahyar Khan came out in support of the party leader saying through this poster, people are urging Kamal Nath to contest the 2023 polls and teach BJP a lesson.
This time the political skirmish took cues from mythology as the country soaked in the festive spirit with the celebration of Janmashtami. According to ANI, Khan added, “When sin increases on earth, God sends someone... Kamal Nath is that "vikas purush". His Chhindwara model is an ideal example of development in the state... While CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has not done enough here...

The Congress rule in the state ended prematurely after 1.5 years with Jyotiraditya Scindia’s exit from the party. Following the tussle within the Congress which was followed by the resignation of the former CM Kamal Nath, the BJP once again formed the government, with Shivraj Singh Chouhan taking oath as the CM for the fourth time.
The two leaders have always remained at loggerheads ever since Kamal Nath was forced to resign in 2020 after losing its majority in the state Assembly as 22 MLAs loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia resigned from the party.
While the Madhya Pradesh BJP is focused on highlighting the achievements of the party ahead of by-polls on one Lok Sabha and three assembly constituencies. BJP is trying to draw strength from the chief minister’s strong and clean image with the catch line "Shivraj Sarkaar, Bharosa Barkarar".
The future of Congress politics in MP is rested in the hands of Nath because there is none to challenge him after Scindia’s exit.
