In a conversation with Peeping Moon, Jimmy told that the legendary singer's program was in Kolkata on Monday night. On Tuesday afternoon when he came to Mumbai airport, he suddenly fell ill. After sitting in the cab, he told the driver that he was not feeling well, following which he was then taken to Nanavati Hospital. The doctors at hospital told Aziz had suffered from heart attack. He was later declared dead.
Who was Mohammed Aziz
The vocalist who was born on 2 July 1954, sang some superhit songs in the 80's and 90's. His nickname was Munna and his real name was Syed Mohammed Aziz-un-Nabi. Being an ardent lover of music and Mohammed Rafi, he started singing from childhood. He made his film debut in a Bengali language film, Jyoti. In an interesting fact, born in Calcutta, West Bengal, Aziz still lived in his 150-year-old house, which belonged to his great-grandfather.
He had come to Mumbai in 1982 and was given the first break by Sapan Jagmohan. Aziz had sung many hits in Hindi and Oriya besides Bangla languages. His super hit song 'Mai se na mina se' is one of the most popular songs all over the world.
